Last two days have been pretty good on the North Shore LI Sound for us. We have connected with small bass in the 20- 27 inch range and have found the bait.
Monday 5/5/08: Hit the incoming around 5 PM and connected with 7-8 schoolie bass up to 24 inches. Live bait was the key.
Set up for the night on the chunk and loaded the bottom with fresh bunker but couldn't get any takers. Oh well, good conversation with my brother and lots of laughs. Headed back in sometime after midnight after a beautiful night sky and non-existent new moon. Huge tides surge tonight and we marked alot of bait.
Tuesday 5/6/08: Hit it again for the last of the incoming and thru the ougtgoing mid day in the LI Sound. Found some birds working small spearing in droves...very good sign!
The Sound was like glass and virtually clear blue sky's...great to be out there today again and worked various locations/depths/structures from Huntington thru Bayville
Again, live bait was the key for us today as we connected with another 10 or so schoolie bass on lite tackle using 12LB braided line....
Very good two days on the water for early may on the North Shore and alot of fun too.......If any one wants to fish just give me a call.
Thanks and Tight Lines!
