Blue Ocean Sportfishing 7/14/08
 (United States)

Busy last week with fishing:

Tuesday 7/8 had Maurice from Total Golf Events for a quick 3 hour trip on the boat. Managed a few short Fluke, couple of Blues and 1 Keeper Fluke at 22 Inches.

Thursday 7/10 went clam chuming with my brother begining of the incoming. Bite was on big time and we landed and released over 30 bass to 27 inches.

Friday 7/11 we had the Chris Knapp charter of 3 on the boat for bassing and fluking. Two of the borthers came in from Colorado & California. We started off clam chuming again like the day before with high expectations but unfortunatley the bass didnt show. We switched up to fluking and were inundated with sea robbins, the guys, who were in finance, made a joke that they ...cornered the market on sea robbins...We did salvage the day with a few small blues, 6-7 short fluke with one keeper at 21 inches for the table.

Saturday 7/12 we had the John Dyer charter of 6 in for a day of fluking for a bachelor party weekend. We got out ocean side in very nice conditions and we had rods bending. We took 1 keeper fluke on the outside going 23 inches with many shorts released. Back inside was pretty much the same, lots of shorts and we put two more keepers in the cooler.

Sunday 7/13 we had the Flip Gassman charter of 4 in from Miami. We switched back to a morning of clam chuming. The bite was slow with only a few schoolie bass released. We switched over to fluking inside the inlet and released a few short fluke and kept one at 23 inches for the table along with a couple of bluefish that we picked while trolling.

Monday 7/14 we had the Jerry Katzenberger charter of 6 on the boat for a morning of fluking. The bite was slow with 10 or so shorts released and 1 Fluke at 22 inches in the boat. We switched over to clam chumming in the afternoon. The bite was ON! We had over 40 schoolie bass boatside for release. Rods were bending everywhere and we put 1 in the box at 32 inches.

I gotta say, the guys on these charters the last 4 days were just an awesome group of people! Very freindly, easy to get along with and a pleasure to have on board. Thanks Guys!

Big thanks to Steve Barbato for mating Saturday & Sunday!
